About the image:
This image is inspired by the book Leaf by Niggle - a short story by J.R.R. Tolkien. The narrative follows Niggle, who faces constant interruptions in his work of painting a tree in a field. By the end of his life, he is only able to paint a single leaf. The book is deeply allegorical of the human experience we all face: the unending striving in this life, only to find that time is quickly running out on our dreams and plans.
